The True Meaning Behind the Cross COME RECEIVE OUR SAVIOR'S SALVATION

The CROSS is an invitation to come!

Come And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. – Revelation 22:17

Receive Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. – Acts 2:38

Our – Ways are not His ways For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isaiah 55:8 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. – John 14:6

Savior's But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: – 2 Timothy 1:10

Salvation Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. – Acts 4:10-12

The CROSS is something that most people miss:

Matthew 7:14 – Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

In order to understand what happened at Calvary, one has to go back to the beginning and learn the need for the Cross in the first place.

Genesis 2:16-17 – And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

God meant exactly what He said when He told man that if he ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil he would die! That is exactly what happened to man. He died! The Holy Spirit of God moved out of man, and he became eternally separated from God. He was no longer one with God, no longer in the image of God.

And yet, to understand the Cross fully, we have to go back even further than the Garden, because Adam wasn’t the first to sin in creation. Lucifer was the first when he said he would be like God.

Isaiah 14:12-14 – How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

You see, the angels were created before man and before anything else on earth either.

Genesis 1:1-2 – In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The “beginning” here in verse 1 of Genesis 1 was the beginning of Realm of Angels as we know it. It was written to us, to know about the Creation of the realm and prison Satan and the third of the angels that followed him. They were already judged, destined to be cast into the lake of fire along with all those that reject Christ. So if God is omniscient (knowing everything, even before it happens), then did He not know that the Serpent would rebel and fall, did He not know that Lucifer as the Serpent would beguile Eve and that she would give to her husband Adam to eat?

He knew. It did not take God by surprise, because before the creation of Man, God knew there would be a need of the CROSS—an invitation for man to come and to again be one with God. God did what no one else could. He fulfilled His promise at the Cross by going there Himself.

Genesis 22:8 – And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

There is so much I don’t know about God and that I will never know until I am with Him on high, but what I have learned I will share with you in this book, The CROSS an Invitation to Come.

As God leads me, I will teach other aspects of the beginning in deeper detail, like sin (which brought death), life (how it works in our lives), and how Satan uses them to keep a person in bondage.

So let’s begin with sin or what I call the Self Independent Nature. Sin is you saying to God, “I don’t need You.” It is a life lived apart from God!

Sin entered the world through one man: Adam.

Romans 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

It is said by most preachers and scholars that sin somehow changed creation here on earth, and that is why we have thorns on flowers and why lions have canine teeth and so forth. They claim that sin resulted in animals and plants evolving into what they are today. What they fail to realize is that God created everything here on earth to produce after its own kind and that Adam was placed in a perfect environment called the Garden of Eden. If sin existed before Adam, then God created the world with thorns and sharp teeth that tear and kill already.

Let’s look at some of the plants and animals that existed before the Fall of Man. Adam was put in the garden of God, which I agree was perfect. Yet will you not agree that God finished His creative work with plants and animals before He created man on the 6thday? Let me ask you: where did these plants, these thorns and thistles, come from? Most all would say with the Fall of Man. But did they really? Or did they already exist outside the Garden of Eden?

Poison Hemlock

Poison hemlock is a lethally poisonous herb (Conium maculatum) of the carrot family, native to the Old World but now naturalized in parts of the U.S. It has clusters of small white flowers and a purple-mottled stem. The poisonous principle (the alkaloid coniine) causes paralysis, convulsions, and eventual death. The plant was used in ancient Greece to execute criminals; a famous example was Socrates.[1]

Poison Ivy

Poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac are woody vines and trailing or erect shrubs (genus Toxicodendron, although sometimes considered genus Rhus) of the sumac family, native to North America. The names poison ivy and poison oak, often used interchangeably, describe several species, the most common being T. radicans, which has three smooth leaflets. Poison sumac (T. vernix) is a larger plant. Both species have whitish, berrylike fruits and red autumn foliage. Urushiol, an irritant present in almost all parts of the plant, causes a skin eruption that may vary from itching inflammations to watery blisters.[2]

Great White Shark

How about the great white shark? Its only purpose is to, swim, eat (which means to kill other fish and whatever else gets in its mouth), and make baby sharks.

The Black Widow

How about the black widow? It will eat its mate after copulation and can kill with a bite.

And Many More

The list can go on and I could name all kinds of plants, insects, birds, fish and animals. My point here is that sin had already entered creation before the Fall of Man. It started with the fall of Lucifer, Satan, and flowed into the rest of the creation process of plants, birds, fish and animals. Yet the Garden of God was not affected. It was set aside for man in order for him to determine his own destiny. Satan wasn’t to interfere, but he just couldn’t take the chance that Adam would find the Tree of Life first.

You see, God never mentioned the Tree of Life to Adam until after the Fall of Man. God had only mentioned that Adam was not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam was put in a perfect environment, then sinned, and was then cast out of the Garden into the fallen creation. I believe without a doubt that everything that is happening in our world is a result of Satan’s anger and belief that God was unjust in condemning him to the Lake of Fire as described in Revelation.

Ultimately, sin says to God, “I don’t need you!” Self and I are in the middle of sin! Everything you have heard and have been taught about sin, are sins resulting from your thoughts, your words and your actions. These are the fruits of sin and not the root, which is self. Man was left alone to himself, with knowledge he did not need. God asked him, “Who told you that you were naked?”

When Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, knowledge was imparted to them, both good and evil. Their eyes were opened to their nakedness and their conscience was changed with the addition of this evil knowledge. Adam had a conscience absent of evil until he ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, so evil was imputed upon them at the moment they ate that fruit. They were now no longer one with God. They were dead or separated from God. They were no longer in the image of God: a body, soul and spirit. Now they were a body, soul and the conscience of not just good, but now the addition of evil. They originally had knowledge of only good which was the Spirit of God that moved out of Adam and Eve, not of evil, until they took of the forbidden fruit. They replaced God with knowledge of good and evil, so their conscience was changed with the addition of evil knowledge.

Mark 10:18 – And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

They had God and life, but they choose to be without Him by their disobedience. Thus sin was imputed unto them or, as I say it, a Self Independent Nature that said to God, “I don’t need You.” Which is sad to say, because everything about us is dependent upon God! We would die physically if you take away any one of these: food, water, air or even light. And as I read my Bible, God refers to His Son as Bread, Water, Breath and Light. He is everything we need to “live” as we know it. Here are a few verses of many to illustrate this:

1. Bread: John 6:35 – And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

2. Water: John 4:14 – But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

3. Breath: Genesis 2:7 - And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

4. Light: John 1:4-8 – In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Sin caused our relationship to God to change. Death is our position in Christ due to sin, thus our need of the CROSS. Sin is more than something you think, say and do. Sin says to God,“ I don’t need You” (Self Independent Nature). And is not Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit three persons and yet One entity that is God?

John 14:6-11 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

You cannot take God the Father and leave out God the Son, and you cannot take God the Son and add anything to Him or it is works. Sin says to God(Jesus), “I don't need You.” Repentance says to God (Jesus), “I do need You.”
